IT SURE FEELS LIKE FRIDAY, YET IT’S NOT……………..OH DE PLUF!

I fell asleep to “Dream Theater” the self-titled album from 2013.  They have released 2 since then & a pile more before that.

I exercised to “Counting Crows” the album “Recovering the Satellites”

This is the album with “Mr. Jones”.  I bought these two & 3 other ones that did nothing for me, except the live album I own

I was feeling nostalgic the other day & played these 2 albums on my iPod

Pearl Jam’s “Backspacer” was released 7 years ago.  Most casual fans had mixed emotions, I’m a casual fan of Pearl Jam it was VERY radio friendly & VERY calm.  I like this album, they’ve released other albums that are very calm & don’t work for me.  I have all of their albums on CD, the most recent one from iTunes & I really like their music, I just forget there’s more than the album “V.S.” & “Yield”

Big Wreck shared it……

I missed a bit of this, interesting though.  Seems like documentary makers are trying to cash in on the Netflix series “Making a Murderer” might as well strike while it’s hot!

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.  I like superhero movies, but I can see that there are fewer options for those that don’t like them.

Kerry King of “Slayer” weighs in on ”Anthrax” collaboration with “Public Enemy”.  Personally I would like Kerry King to learn how to do a guitar solo in key?  I’ve never been able to play a lightning fast guitar solo & I’m not well versed on the key of a song, but I know when something is out of tune.

You knew something would occur after the documentary of “The Case of: JonBenet Ramsey”

“The Pretty Reckless” vs. “Highly Suspect” I’m good either way, both come out later this year & yes I have them preordered on iTunes

Just watched a live Q & A with In Flames on Facebook!  New album out November, 11th 2016.  No preorder yet.

FACEBOOK

I fell asleep to “Trivium” the album “Silence in the Snow”

I exercised first to “Queens of the Stone Age” the album “Rated-R” then “Kyuss” the album “Blues for the Red Sun”

You’ve probably never heard of “Kyuss” unless you’re a huge fan of “Queens of the Stone Age” or “Foo Fighters”. “Kyuss? Was Josh Homme’s group before he started “Queens….”. If you watched the ‘Sonic Highways’ mini series Foo Fighters have a song called “Outside”. “Kyuss” practiced in the middle of the desert out side of L.A. because they were too loud to rehearse in a house, to close to neighbours.

I use both. I don’t understand or care to understand how anybody can be just on facebook? Why do you need an email for an email with limitations? Not everybody’s on facebook? Very few people send a private message on facebook. Yes, social media has it’s place. Most of the info on this blog is from facebook, that being said I could likely get all of this info by subscribing to 30+ newsletters. I assume the only problem with that is that they would all come at the end of the day, then you’d be getting yesterdays music/pop culture news. I guess all I’m trying to say is email vs. facebook isn’t a contest, they both have pros & cons.

NO, I DON’T HAVE A SIMPLE LIFE BECAUSE I DON’T HAVE KIDS

Today’s workout was brought to by the letter “L”, as in Lamb of God’s album “VII: Strum Und Drang”

I actually don’t have enough hours to complete everything I want to get done between exercising, having a healthy breakfast, lunch, taking care/playing with Brewster & writing these blogs, I don’t hit the couch until about 4:00pm. I’m not saying that being a parent isn’t easy, that’s a full time job, 24/7 until your kid grows up & leaves the nest. Even my parents have had to pretty much raise me again & I’m 35? I’m up when Kim leaves for whatever job she’s working at that day, so I’m up doing stuff before the clock says it’s 8:00am or 7:00am. I try to get stuff done ASAP. I’m always the last one in bed also. I’m in here looking for stuff I should put on this blog. I’m not complaining, but some people say to me “Oh Chris, I wish my life was as easy as your’s”. I don’t sit around here doing nothing all day.

I’m in a wheelchair, so I have to do some things differently than others. No big deal, it just takes me longer, but it gets faster the more I do the same task.

Thom Yorke (Radiohead singer) is working on music for Broadway.

http://consequenceofsound.net/2015/09/thom-yorke-pens-new-music-from-broadway-drama-old-times-listen/

I loved Radiohead’s first 3 albums, each 1 more than the previous release. Their 3rd album ‘OK Computer’ was a FANTASTIC album when it was released in the summer of 1997. Rolling Stone magazine took a readers poll, ‘OK Computer’ was voted as “The Best Album of All Time” just ahead of The Beatles ‘Revolver’. That doesn’t mean much to me, that means to me that 1 or more people liked it more than The Beatles album. Here’s a single from ‘OK Computer’………..

FACEBOOK, TWITTER, INSTAGRAM & EMAIL

All of these “social media” sites require one thing, email! You join a social media site & TONS of people totally forget that they have an email. I always check both, why? Because not everyone has a facebook, twitter, instagram, etc. account. Everybody on these sites has an email account! How often does anyone send you an email via one of these sites? I do because some people are a touch stubborn & refuse to use their email. What did you do before the invention of www.myspace.com? You used email probably. I get it, it’s a personal choice. Just remember that not everyone likes these sites. I use facebook mostly for these blogs & a handful of people who have problems with their email account.

This music blog was for those who like similar music as I, & those who don’t want to be on a social media site. If it wasn’t for this blog, I’d be long gone from facebook!

Last night’s baseball game between the Toronto Blue Jays 78W-59L & the Boston Red Sox 65W-72L prior to the game was a nail biter for me. Tied 1-1 into the 10th inning. Then the Toronto Blue Jay bats woke up & everything bounced Toronto’s way to win 5-1 in the end. I was nervous, I may have peed a bit on the couch. (Shh! Don’t tell Kim?)

I know baseball’s not for everyone, I get it. This has been an exciting time for the Blue Jays though! First time the fans have seen meaningful baseball in September since the early ’90s!

Today’s workout was brought to you by Dream Theater’s ‘Images & Words’ album!

Godsmack’s tour for 2015. I’ve never really listened to them other than seeing the “Voodoo” video on Much Music. I didn’t care much for that song so I never paid attention to them.
