I made the mistake of watching American & Canadian news this weekend. I’m better off just going to website above for Covid info. Both types of news told me a bit about Covid, whatever Trump did, & on the Canadian news a little bit of Canadian politics.
I’m a little disappointed in the lack of humanity in some individuals. When this global pandemic started everyone, for the most part, was doing what they were told. Stay inside, practice public distancing, if you choose to have a gathering keep it under 10 people, & wear a mask in public. In March we were doing well by following these 4 simple rules & the curve was flattening.
Then summer hit and a LOT of people just decided that it was non-sense and couldn’t handle living with 4 additional rules. Summer is over, so use the fall & winter weather as an excuse for living like we all did in March.
With the fall coming & schools reopening this isn’t going to get any better since flu season comes along with the season change as well. Maybe the people avoiding the rules haven’t experienced the downside of the pandemic personally? Well, I hope they don’t have to find out the hard way, but not following those 4 simple rules increases the odds of finding out the hard way.
This has never been an “I’m going to stick it to the man & disobey the rules” situation. There is no individual to blame for this or for anyone to “stick it to”. It’s a potentially lethal virus. That has a better chance of making you & others sick by not following 4 simple rules.
If you want to politicize it, call it a hoax, a conspiracy, or anything else you have the right to do so. Just know that you’re really letting everybody else down & they’re likely disappointed in you & your lack of humanity. Celebrities were saying things such as “This will bring the best out of people” & for the most part they were right, but there’s always a few people that “…let you down”
I’ve pretty much been in quarantine for almost 7 years here. When it started for me in December of 2013 I was grumpy, angry, & depressed. Somewhere along the way I just gave up on the idea of leaving this building & figured “This is it, this is my life. I guess I had better figure out how to deal with it.” I assume many people aren’t there yet. The sooner everyone figures that out, in a temporary situation, the sooner everyone can return to a “new normal”. If you’re not a part of the solution, you’re likely a part of the problem.
I REALLY hope we can find a buyer for our condo. Apparently the board has decided that visitor dogs are not allowed anymore. We moved here for 3 reasons. A) It’s a nice desirable area with pretty much every store within a 5 minute drive. B) It is/was pet friendly. C) It was being built when we bought it. Our suite is made to be wheelchair accessible.
Why do we want to move? We need more space. Our storage locker in the underground parking is full. Kim’s bike was stolen because there is nothing to lock it too & there’s no way it would fit in our storage unit or our suite. So all of that & the fact that were at least 20 years younger than most people here, & now the condo board is trying to change the pet agenda. If someone didn’t want to be around pets, why would they move to a pet friendly building? Kim’s going to board meeting coming up to vote on the pet issue.
I was watching Blue Jays baseball over the weekend & while I was watching the games I always get my acoustic guitar to play while watching TV. Out of nowhere I started to figure this out. I don’t remember it all so I looked up the guitar tab.
I figured I used to play it so I might as well relearn it. I also decided to continue learning this Trivium song instead of something completely new to me…
I didn’t give up on this song, but it will take more time to learn new techniques I’ve never tried or used before. It’s also mostly a solo all the way through…
I become more certain about this amplifier purchase later next year as I research it…
…and this is version 1 which is no longer available. I’m looking at version 2 with a few more bells & whistles for $330. A solid state amplifier that sounds like a $1500 tube amplifier that has to be at a minimum ½ volume to sound good. This will never be turned to 50 Watts in a condo. Only in a house, I don’t need to cause any extra drama/gossip in this building.
I’ve always liked the sound of a tube amplifier but I could never justify/afford the price tag & maintenance involved.
Enjoy your music it might dry up? This is why I don’t like streaming music. I’ve bought 2 CDs this year & plan to purchase 3-5 more, while buying some stuff on iTunes as well. The bands I want to hear but don’t listen to often, I will stream! Unfortunately for me, I am streaming more than I want to while saving money for other purchases.
