Well I did it! Coffee free & not even craving it. Alcohol is paid for, so it’s here but I don’t need it. I did have a gin & lime bubbly on the weekend just for something different. No craving for it though. What we have will last me until next year easily for the amount I plan to consume alcohol, then probably two 26 oz. bottles of rum a year after the stuff her is gone. So for a longtime it’s been 3-5 liters of water a day & 3 or 4 cans of bubbly a week. Now no coffee & very little alcohol, if any every 2 or 3 weeks.
I do feel even better now. I wish I had done this before I had cancer. Eating & drinking right & exercising daily. Dropped the fat & I’ve definitely put on muscle! I have a visible calf muscle on my left leg again.
This is part of my Tuesday & Thursday exercises after some yoga…
This is already ordered & I’m VERY excited for it! Especially know that I’m playing around with a guitar in DADGad tuning instead of the standard EADGbe tuning.
It’s all about saving for a guitar, & this is a REMARKABLY EXCELLENT side effect that will continue long after the purchase of the guitar! I do get rather tired & a little tender at the end of the week. Weekends seem to do the trick for recovery over the weekend. Wednesday I got up at 5:30 am by the time Kim got up at 8:00 am I had emptied the dishwasher, had breakfast & finished my exercise. Once she got up I had a snack & showered then practiced guitar for around 5 hours. Thursday was rough though. I layed in bed until 9:20 am just tired & sore. As soon as I got up I hoovered my small breakfast & did my exercises!
As far as relearning guitar goes, I’m at the point where I just have to repeat the same part over a couple hundred times to get my hands used to moving in that pattern. It wasn’t like that before cancer. Before it was more like “OK guys what should I learn for the show in a month?” 3 days later at rehearsal we’d put the song together. When I was doing original stuff with my brother, some of it would take a few days or we’d at least get a rough idea of what the song(s) would sound like when finished.
I’d say in the last 2 or 3 months I practice guitar for 3-6 hours a day or until my shoulder gets sore. Makes me happy & makes me think……sometimes too much!
Now let me explain the title. I’m quite shy & quiet, until you know me & I’m comfortable. I rarely make the effort to introduce myself to someone. I’m typically quiet but approachable at the same time. I’m uneasy that I might say something wrong & offend an individual, that is never my intent. Being a frontman for a band was different. I always at least tried to keep every show G rated. Every show I go to, the language get’s REALLY old fast.
I’ll talk to you but I can guarantee that I won’t be starting the conversation. If you’re a friend of a mutual friend, that conversation is easier & I might start it. I like to talk once I know someone.
I know that “Big Wreck” will have a concert from last year in Nashville on http://www.youtube.com.
Also on www.youtube.com will be “The Metal Concert Stream of the Year” with “In Flames”, “Trivium”, “Lamb of God”, & headliner “Megadeth”. The actual tour was scheduled to start today. I assume these will be performances from last year but I’m not certain.
If you’re getting this through Facebook, give it a like or other reaction, or share it. That’s the only way of promoting this site, since I’m not profiting from this in any way.
