Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer?  Ask if you do!

5 day exercise total; 900 leg lifts, 1,200 crunches, 300 squats, 300 back flexes, 150 pushups, 800 curls (10 pounds), 500 tricep extensions (7 pounds), 400 shoulder raises (7 pounds).  Stretching & yoga.

I fell asleep to “Opeth” the new album “In Cauda Venenum”

I exercised to “Billie Eilish” the album “When we all Fall Asleep, Where do we go?”

I’ve recently (month & a bit ago) resumed playing/practicing my guitar limited skills after somewhere around 11 years.  I was always a singer first though.  A guitar on stage was something I picked up to hide behind.  I wasn’t a metal growler or screamer, I was a singer.  No, my friends & I are not famous anywhere unless you’ve been to a handful of watering holes in Regina.

It was a hobby that I really enjoyed, outside of dragging my gear home at 2:00 am.  I play at home now with a much smaller amplifier & pedal system.  I have three 6 string electric guitars & an acoustic guitar.  I never purchased any of my electric guitars.

My first guitar ever was an electric my parents bought me for my 21st birthday.  I learned a bit prior to that on my mother’s old acoustic guitar so I could help my friend learn bass.  I’ve never taken a guitar lesson, I’ve played piano when I was 8 & 9 years old, flute from grade 6-10 & high school choir from grade 10-graduation.

I just picked up the guitar initially to help our cover band’s bass player out.  He had never done anything musically before, so I did what I could along with 2 other friends to help him out.

My 2nd guitar I bought for myself, my acoustic guitar.  I play it when I’m too lazy to go the extra 10’ to plug in an electric guitar to my amplifier.

My wife bought me my 3rd guitar for our first Christmas as boyfriend & girlfriend.  She wanted to learn so I bought her a blue acoustic guitar for the same Christmas, she specified the colour.

My 4th guitar I got from a very good friend of mine while I was recovering in the Wascana Rehabilitation Center from stage 4 brain cancer.  It is signed by “Big Wreck” singer Ian Thornley.  Other than my Epiphone Explorer my wife bought me, this is the only popular brand name guitar I own, made by Fender guitars.

There would be no point in me having three 6 string electric guitars in the same tuning, so all 3 of them are in different tunings for a reason.

I remember the majority of the guitar parts I played in my first/cover band so that’s where I started.  More fun to play a song as I build up the strength in my fretting hand/left hand.

I’ve also been watching quite a few guitar clinics online to learn new songs.  All of this gives me something else to look forward to the next day other than just exercise.  I’ve gotten stronger, & now I can do more things, around the house, for my wife, our now old dog, my friends, & myself.

The way I see it is, if I’m not a part of the solution, I’m a part of the problem.

She said it much more eloquently than I would have!  Well done & I couldn’t agree more!

Wait a minute……………..I’ll be 40 in January.  I’m a Muse fan & a Rush fan.  Are they talking about me?

I saw this earlier this week.  I’m out of touch with the hip cool thing, oops!  First time I’ve heard them.  Haven’t decided if I’d purchase this yet?

GOO GOO DOLLS

90s alternative radio acceptable “rock” band.  Acoustic based rock band.  From the USA.  They appeared on quite a few movie soundtracks during the late 90s & early 2000s.  Can’t say I listen to them much anymore but I do own a Greatest Hits album.  I did own a couple of their CDs back in the day.  I have no problem with them, it’s just not my go to music.

If you’re getting this through Facebook, give it a like or other reaction, or share it.  That’s the only way of promoting this site, since I’m not profiting from this in any way.

P.S.  The next week could be busy?  I’ll pop in randomly if possible.
