A nice break this week from baseball.  The All-Star Game & Home run challenge are this week & I’m not 12 years old anymore aka I have no desire to watch any of it.

Question for non-baseball fans.  Baseball games are usually around 3 hours long, if they were 10 minutes shorter, would you then consider watching a game?  I wouldn’t but the league is coming up with new rules to speed up the pace of the game.  I’m pretty sure that won’t increase any fan base?

Anyways, I’ve changed my workout routine to abs & legs one day, then arms & back the next day.  3 exercises each day but all different muscle groups.  Less stress on my body in one day, hopefully less is more in this case?  It’s recommended by many.  If it works great!  If it doesn’t, then it’s back to the old routine, 6 exercises a day.

I don’t know how I got to 240 pushups a day?  I can only manage 120 right now.  I might revert to 100 & build up from there, next week?

 

BLUE RODEO

I love ‘em!  Great mix of country & rock.  I only have their “Greatest Hits”.  I had one other on CD that is long gone for some reason?  I don’t know a lot about them.  I know Chris Messer is or was a big fan.  Kim & I saw them once in Regina!  Great show, I’m just not a HUGE fan.  I believe the group is made up of 5 guys based in Toronto, Ontario.  I’m not really a country fan, but this group works fine for me….

I heard Chris Messer sing/play the song “Try” & asked myself “When did Jim Cuddy get here?”  Spot on and FANTASTIC!

  1. Regarding the baseball question, while I do think trying to keep games in all professional sports < 3 hours is better, cutting the average MLB game from 3 hours to 2:50 or 2:30 or even 2 hours wouldn't get me watching. I'm just not interested.

    Regarding exercising – recovery is important! Alternating days you work out each muscle group or even splitting them up more into a 3 day cycle or doing a day of yoga/stretching in the middle really helps your body recover. It doesn't work the same for all exercises, for example you can do cardio 7 days a week if you want, but if you're trying to build strength then getting plenty of sleep and taking a day or two between working out that muscle helps a lot.

    • Thanks Kayll! I get in cardio when Kim is home to help me, usually on weekends. I still exercise everyday, just 3 exercises one day & 3 different exercises the next. Much easier on my body instead of 6 a day. I try to remember to stretch each day before I exercise, it doesn’t always happen though.

      I totally agree on the sports comment. If you’re not into a watching a sporting game, it likely wont make anyone a new fan no matter how long it is!
