Do you have a question about stage 4 brain cancer? Ask if you do!
I fell asleep to “Nothing But Thieves” the album “Broken Machine”
Finished off Friday by playing 3 games of cribbage with my cousin & her new boyfriend. Good times! Kim’s not a cribbage fan, so I finally used the cribbage board I got for Christmas!
Saturday was a busy day! A guy I haven’t seen since I graduated high school in 1998 came over to visit. We were on the high school baseball team, sang in the choir & the chamber choir that went to Newfoundland in the summer of ’97. Nice to catch up. He’s still into baseball. So now I’ve got 3 other people to watch baseball with 3 X Chris + Trevor, I know more & more Chris’ as I get older.
He left around or just before 4 pm. Hannah, Jolene & Corey showed up very shortly after. The girls went to see “Peter Rabbit”.
Corey brought all of the ingredients for the most unhealthy meal we created in 2002, he made supper, brought beer, & washed dishes. Then we had 2 medium pizzas to bake, poutine chicken wings, 2 or 3 beer each, & some chips. Sat on the couch & waited for my dad to pick us up to see “Big Wreck” at Casino Regina for a 20th anniversary show of their first album. It was fantastic. There was even an announcement to turn off your cell phone or any other recording device before the opening act hit the stage. The only negative to the show was that they ended with a “Thornley” song.
Sunday was spent mostly on the couch watching “FRIENDS” on Netflix. Today is the get ready for the week day. Kim is doing laundry & hard boiling eggs. I make a pitcher of blended vegetables & baking fish.
Big Wreck concert review.
I was not legal drinking age when their 1st album came out in 1998. I saw them in a bar in 1999 at the age of 19 (legal drinking age in Saskatchewan). They blew me away & I haven’t missed a show of theirs in Regina since. Without over exaggerating I’ve likely seen them 12-15 times including the recent 3 times I’ve seen them. From ’99 to 2002 they’d come through Regina 2-4 times a year before they broke up. Then the lead singer started a band called “Thornley” that released 2 albums the 2nd was released when I was in the hospital. Corey bought the CD for me while I was in the hospital. Big Wreck returned with a new album touring through Regina on May 6th, 2012 (my sister-in-law’s birthday) we saw them at The Pump.
Last night we saw (Corey, dad, & I) the 20th anniversary show of their debut album that had 3 or 4 singles all over the radio & 3 videos on Much Music. I reverted to a 19 year old again, but I knew all of the words this time & quietly sang along. These 4 songs were/are their popular songs here anyways…
That’s 1 of 4 big concerts for me this year another 20th anniversary show coming up & another one I went to in 2016. 20th anniversary shows make me feel old until I’m their then I revert to 19 or 20 years old again during the show.
So, I could purchase one decent album by Ed Sheeran, or I could buy 1 song from 10 artists I don’t listen too? I buy albums only!
The more you share this, the more readers I get. No, I’m not profiting from this in any way.
