I fell asleep to “Trivium” the album “Silence in the Snow”

I exercised to “Lamb of God” the album “VII: Sturm Und Drang”

 

Crunches, leg lifts, & pushups.  I’ll do that for a few weeks, then maybe up those numbers.  No squats that could wreck my back.  Mostly it’s trying to exercise without ruining my back.

I used to hate it when people would say “I exercised today & I feel so good now”.  Now I’m one of those people, even working out at a minimal amount.

I’ve got some rough numbers where I’d like to end up for my exercises, but they’re way down the road.  As for squats, they can wait until I meet with the surgeon or after the surgery.

Get up early before its 25 Celcius in here.  I did that on Tuesday & today.  That’s the trick!  I’m just going to pretend I don’t have a nasty cough still.  When I exercise it makes me feel as though I’m doing something productive.  I need that.  Even when I ran a printing press!  At the end of a shift I could hold a piece of paper & think to myself “Hey, I helped make this”.

Nobody told me this until a few weeks ago?  My cancer was likely to come back in 2013.  Something I would have liked to know.  Nobody told me squat!  WHY????????  I wouldn’t have done anything differently to avoid it.  You’d think anyone with that kind of info might clue you in.  “His cancer will probably come back but don’t tell him”.  I don’t know, it just seems disrespectful, but 2013 is a long time ago & the cancer didn’t “come back”

If I don’t know what music I should workout to, I just look down at the shirt I’m wearing.  I had to do that today.

Always looking for new bands.  I found a metal group called “Kobra & the Lotus”.  A female fronted group.  I’ve got all of the metal bands I’ll follow, but this song seems to be OK.  Their past 2 albums I’m pretty sure aren’t for me.  I can’t see myself listening to this much but I thought some of you would be interested.

They’re like “Gojira” or “Children of Bodom” for me.  Love most of the music, but can’t get behind the vocals?

 

I’ve become a super hero nut.  I was watching “Gotham” Monday night.  During a commercial brake they showed a trailer of the “Wonder Woman” movie.  I don’t know that I’ll see it on June 2nd, but I’ll definitely see it & likely buy it.

I’ve never actually heard their music.  How many musicians have used their platform against anything?  EVERYBODY!  Now this video can’t be made because it’s anti-government?  Give me a break

Just think of “The Sex Pistols”  “I am an anti-Christ” anti-Christian, I see no problem with that.  That’s fine or “Rage Against The Machine” pick almost any song in their catalogue.  It is likely anti-government & that’s fine with me also.  It’s kind of pointless that an artist has zero free speech.  I guess if your anti-anything you’d be better off to just “shut up & sing”, that’s just completely messed up to me.  It’s OK for Taylor Swift to bash an ex, but if she was singing about the government in the same way, that would be wrong?  I draw the line at Church burning by mostly black metal bands in Europe.  Not every black metal band does this though.

 

I’ve never been a fan of this song, Soundgarden is great but this song I just can’t get my head around.  Soundgarden shared it though……

 

Last week tonight with John Oliver.  He’s just funny!  LANGUAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I’m OK with marijuana.  Do what you like, just please don’t hurt yourself or anyone else.

  1. Hey Chris, glad you’re back on the exercise train!

    You might want to try substituting crunches for another ab workout where your back stays straight, to put less pressure on it. Good alternatives are planks, lying leg raises, or ab wheel roll outs. Have a talk with your physiotherapist about it and see what they say, but my uneducated understanding is that crunches can add aggravate back pain.
