Don’t feel as though you need to open every link.
I fell asleep to “Prince” the album “Purple Rain”. I woke up to pee & put on “Tool” the album “Lateralus”
I exercised to “Ascot Royals” the 2017 release “New Skin” only 7 songs, then I put on “Big Wreck” the new album “Grace Street”
I’ve got some “Into Eternity” the album “Dead or Dreaming” in the house today
Sunday February 3rd, 2008 was the day I was shoveling snow in our backyard. I sat down on our steps while I experienced the most painful headache of my life. It didn’t last long & it was at the base of my skull in the back. Kim saw me through the kitchen window & told me to come inside. My headache probably lasted 3 minutes & then I was fine. I slept fine & went to work on Monday, after a week off with a bad stomach flu.
I was fine on Monday the entire day. I didn’t even think anything of my painful/short headache.
Tuesday, February 5th 2008, again all was fine. Kim & I were carpooling to work. We had bought a used Pontiac Grand Am, which looked new. We bought it roughly a year prior. It was more used as a replacement for my Ford Tempo, which had seen better days! I dropped of Kim & went to work. I think it was still in the morning. I was about to put on the printing plates for a job. Two of my co-workers came over & told me I looked very pale. I felt fine & carried on as usual. Then it all happened.
I sat down on the cat-walk of my press, then I laid down on it, none of this is normal. I called for my co-worker and said “Call 911”. I was almost out. The paramedics came ASAP. Kim had been called at the same time. She went to leave & realized I had the car. Her boss drove her over. I was put on a stretcher & was taken into the ambulance. The last thing I remember was Kim getting into the ambulance & me saying “It’ll be alright sweetie”. Apparently I was alert & answering many questions. I don’t remember a thing though. I was in a coma for 4 or 5 weeks with a 5-15% chance of coming out of a coma. I slept for a year only waking up for painkillers. On December 31st 2008 I was declared cancer free. I really did nothing, my body took over while I pretty much slept for a year & I’m sure there was a good chunk of good luck involved.
I was discharged from my therapies at the Wascana Rehabilitation Center on Thursday July 26th 2012! I’m told the doctors expected the cancer too comeback at the 5 year mark, that never happened luckily!
Some people say I should celebrate the days in February. I think those are days to forget. I’d rather celebrate July 26th & every New Year. I don’t know if that’s right, the days in February don’t seem as though they need to be remembered?
