I fell asleep to “The Agonist” the new album “Five” followed by “Foo Fighters” the album “Wasting Light”

I exercised to “Queens of the Stone Age” the album “Songs for the Deaf”

This was the first “Queens of the Stone Age” album I bought.  I had never heard of them before.  I knew Dave Grohl was playing drums on the album & also did a short tour with them.  I bought this, then bought the 2 before it.

I did it!  All of the numbers below are accurate!

My goals for each day are: 1500 crunches, 100 squats, 80 pushups, & 70 leg lifts.

Normal weekly total should be, 7500 crunches, 500 squats, 400 pushups, & 350 leg lifts.

This is not meant to be taken as a sob story.  I’m not writing a book?  If you want to, go ahead, you can take what I’ve written & send me the cash from the sales!  Hahahahahaha!

Every morning the first thing I do, once I leave our bedroom, is 50 squats. Then I have a coffee, water & my breakfast smoothie.  Rest for 20-30 minutes, then do the rest of my exercise.  Once all of that’s done, I grab another coffee & I come in here to write a blog post.  I usually start another post right after I post one for the day.

I am & was an introvert for quite a while.  Kept my head down & tried not to ruffle any feathers.  Even fronting a band.  I needed a guitar to hide behind.  A guitar was like my security blanket.  Until university, I never felt very comfortable.  Even while I was in university, I never really went out of my way to find friends, that’s not something I do.  If people look & point at me, I’m OK with that.  Dude with an eye patch, I get it, it’s quite rare to see.

I’m good in a small group but a loud group of over 15 people I don’t really know, I keep quiet & listen usually!  Better off to shut up & learn something.  Even writing this blog is somewhat nerve racking.  I can’t make everyone happy all of the time.  Some of these posts are edited 3 or 4 times.  I’ll read what I have & think to myself “This could be taken the wrong way?”  I don’t want to come off as a $%#&^@*&^ ever, I’m not perfect & I’m aware of it.  “I know that there’s a time & a place that I can choose to walk the fine line between self-control & self-abuse…”

“Walk off the Earth” are doing the Canadian national anthem!

https://www.wch2016.com/news/walk-off-the-earth-to-perform-o-canada-at-world-cup/c-282225076

I’m cleaning our 2 bathrooms, I finish one & I’m head banging to the next one.  No one’s here but Brewster and I but I’ve got this song stuck in my head.  “………….done, done, & I’m onto the next one…”

Here’s a review of the new “Opeth” album.

“Big Wreck” is mixing their album…………………..on an analog soundboard!  The last 2 “Foo Fighters” albums were recorded on an analog soundboard.  All it really means is that it will sound more like the album if you see them live, & they have to be really good on the recording.

Who’s buried in the mix as a back ground singer on this song?  Myles Kennedy of “Alter Bridge” & “Slash”!

Metallica were the musical guest on Jimmy Fallon last night.

So far the 2 songs released from their album, I really like!  I’m not preordering it though.  I’ll wait for the entire release on November 18th.

If “The Pretty Reckless” video didn’t work yesterday, here it is now!

http://loudwire.com/the-pretty-reckless-take-me-down-video/

As well as grabbing the “Opeth” album & “The Agonist” album last night.  Two songs also came to our iTunes account.  A “Sum 41” song & an “Alter Bridge” song.

I haven’t had a chance to really listen to the “Opeth” album yet.  Before they started recording it or writing it.  They said it would be more of a progressive death metal album.  The previous 3 albums were quite mellow, more of a progressive radio friendly rock vibe.  The little bit that I’ve heard of their new album seems like more of the same, I still like it, hard core fans might think differently though?

“The 1975” may have new material for 2017?  That would be AWESOME!

http://www.nme.com/news/the-1975/96787?utm_campaign=nme-30-sep-30-09-2016&utm_medium=email&utm_source=newsletter

The new “The Pretty Reckless” album sounds pretty good to me!  This is the 3rd song they have released from the album which will be released on October, 21st.

“Kings of Leon” new song.  I’ve never been a fan of theirs.  I did like their song “Radioactive” though

http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/hear-kings-of-leons-led-zeppelin-esque-single-around-the-world-w442796

I like getting all of this music, the downside is that there is so much all at once!  I prefer to listen to an album & really get into it & play it multiple times.

Time to see how the Blue Jays will lose another game?  Last regular season game in Boston on Sunday.

Just because I can!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I fell asleep to “Queens of the Stone Age” the album “….like clockwork”.  Guess who played drums on this album?  The name rhymes with Rave Roll?

I exercised to “A. D.D.” the album “Core” then “Alice in Chains” their Greatest Hits” the songs before singer, Layne Staley, died from a heroin overdose.

I remember Chris Messer telling me that the band I was with in university, should play “Man in the Box” my voice hadn’t completely changed from being a bass singer in high school yet.  The song was pretty difficult for me.

I exercise daily because I have to if I want to walk again.  I miss it when I’m supposed to be relaxing.  The part I really like about it is my rotation of T-Shirts that fit has grown!  Seems as though each week I can add another shirt into the mix.  This week started off with the addition of 3 T-Shirts.  That’s my wardrobe, concert T-Shirts & mostly shorts.

I really don’t like the heat!  Our windows face south so it’s always warm in here.  Even if the blinds are closed, even in the winter, it can get up to 89F or 28C.  Far too warm for me!  In the summer I can turn on the air conditioner to keep it at 22C.  In the winter I’m hooped?  I don’t even turn on the heat.  I did last winter & it kicked in 3 times, the rest of the winter it was really “hot in herre” even when I left the door open.  The heat from the sun kept it at a more than balmy 89F, 31C.  If we were going out I’d keep my shorts & T-Shirt on & bring my jacket with me.  I don’t wear my winter jacket much, usually a bunny hug/hoodie.  If you’re from Saskatchewan you know what a bunny hug is, if you’re anywhere else & say that, people look at you like you’re absolutely crazy!  That or on occasion in other Canadian provinces someone will say “So, you’re from Saskatchewan I assume?”

This is mostly hearsay & vague memories.  I think I was 3 or 4 years old.  I had a Care bear, the yellow one with a sun on it’s stomach “Sunshine Bear” or “Funshine Bear” whatever it was called, that thing came with me everywhere!  I had just shown interest in watching hockey.  The Edmonton Oilers were the team to watch.  My parents took me to Edmonton, the bear came along too.  We went to see the Edmonton Oilers practice at the West Edmonton Mall rink.  Wayne Gretzky was there.  We watched the practice.  One of the players skate towards us & waved at us.  I asked my mom “Who is that?” she replied “That was Wayne Gretzky”.  I was confused, “Where are his 9s?”  Practice jerseys don’t have numbers on them, I found out the hard way?

We stayed overnight at a hotel.  On the way home I was devastated.  I lost my Care bear.  I’m guessing I was bawling?  My parents called the hotel, & they found it when cleaning the room.  They mailed the bear to us & all was well.

I really like Edmonton, other than that trip.  I was a kid who A) Didn’t recognize Wayne Gretzky & B) Lost his teddy bear!  Sad trip for a 4 year old!

Brewster doesn’t like loud noises, he gets really bad anxiety, we have small puppy doses of Valium for him during thunder storms & such.  The building manager & a fire Marshall were testing every smoke detector in the building.  Brewster & I spent the afternoon at my parents place.  Brewster would have been in really bad shape otherwise.  He shakes like a leaf & will pee inside on occasion.  When or if we give him a pill he becomes “stoned”.  He eats a PILE of food and will trip & fall over at any given time.  It’s also tough on his liver.  We try to avoid giving him a pill.  I usually put him on my lap but not coddle him.

Time for the Presidential candidates to sink very low against one another & bash each other publically.  I’m glad to live in a different country!  “What can YOU do for these groups?  I don’t want to hear what the other candidate can’t do, what can YOU do?”  Then you hear a political answer where the person tip toes around any question on any answer or throws the other person under the bus.  So many celebrities are choosing not to vote.  Fair enough, I don’t vote here in Canada?  I’m not about to decide who is the lesser evil?  In the almost 19 years that I’ve been able to vote, I’ve voted once & I might as well have thrown a dart at a spinning dart board when choosing who to vote for.  Waste of my time!  Did I watch the debate?  NO!  They’ve done enough mudslinging to each other already.  I’m good, & in another country.

Quiet weekend here again.  Stayed home Friday evening to watch the Blue Jays beat up on the visiting N.Y. Yankees 9-0.  Kim hit the hay at 9:20 pm, she thought the clock said 10:20 pm.  I went to bed around 10:00 pm & woke up 4 times before 5:30 am then fell asleep until 10:00 am.  Watched an afternoon baseball game Blue Jays won 3-0.  Kim was babysitting for our friends.  Dad & I opted to stay warm & dry instead of going to the Saskatchewan Roughrider game.  Dad picked me up so mom, dad, & I could watch the game in the basement in his home theater.  That’s 3 wins & a 2 game winning streak for the home team.

Sunday was the third of four games in Toronto, featuring the Jays against the N.Y. Yankees.  3 wins & only 7 games left in the regular season.  Which is a little sad for me.  It’s fall & our 8 million TV shows are coming back on the air.  The rest of this week I’ll have to watch Blue Jays in :30, but come Friday, Saturday & Sunday, I’ll be parked on the couch watching the 3 last games in Boston against the Boston Red Sox.

 WEEKLY EXERCISE TOTAL

Exercise total is a bit off.  I was very tired all week?  Not bad I guess, but not what I expected?

7100 crunches, 500 squats, 290 leg lifts, & 330 pushups

My goals for each day, which I have reached before: 1500 crunches, 100 squats, 80 pushups, & 70 leg lifts.

Normal weekly total should be, 7500 crunches, 500 squats, 400 pushups, & 350 leg lifts.

The further I get away from cancer, the smaller it seems.  I’ll never forget Sunday, February 3rd 2008, Tuesday, February 5th 2008 or Thursday, July 26th 2012.  No matter how much I try to forget that I had cancer, my wheelchair is a constant reminder.  If I’m sitting on the couch & would like something from the kitchen or if I have to go to the washroom or I forget to get the remote & phone, etc.  I remember that I have to get up, get back in my chair & then go wherever needed.  If I need to go to the washroom in the middle of the night or first thing in the morning, for ½ a second I don’t even realize I have to get into my wheelchair.  Then I realize that I have to get into my wheelchair & close my left eye so that I don’t have double vision.  At this point, MY cancer is nothing more than an annoying pest.  More of an “Oh, yeah.  I have to get in my chair to do that thing”

Being in a wheelchair has pretty much become 2nd nature to me.  I’m way faster at it, but I still think of it as an annoyance that I hope to be rid of someday.  I can do lots of things, there are pros to it too, everything I do is a little different than how you may do it & I may do it a bit slower.

It’s been a looooooooooooooooooooong tiring week.  I thought Tuesday was Friday for a second when I got up.  I’ve also stayed in bed until almost an hour after Kim leaves for work that rarely happens.  I’m just going to count it as a rough week with very little ambition.

ZERO ENERGY

My exercise total will be a bit off this week.  More important stuff to do than exercise.  I still managed to do most of them.  I just don’t have it in me this week.  I’ve done a significant amount of every exercise every day, I’m REALLY tired this week?  It’s 12:30pm now & I’m ready to crawl back into bed.  Monday I did everything & hit the numbers fine, the rest of the week is somewhat disappointing to me.

Opeth has released another new song!

I get it, I’m against free music as well, he’s made his money in the ‘90s with Oasis.  The question for me is, what if gas for your vehicle was valued at the same price as a “coffee” at Starbucks?  Would people walk more, bike, take the bus, call a cab, or complain about the price of gas?  People didn’t complain about the price of music before Napster.  Now everyone expects music to be free because of Napster.  You get a 700 ml of coffee for $5.00 we’ll say so if gas was valued at that much you shouldn’t complain?  Do you need a vehicle or a coffee?  That would make a gas price of roughly just under $6.00?
