No I haven’t listened to “Stitched Up Heart” the debut album “Never Alone” a dozen times, only 10 times since I went to bed Thursday evening, I do quite enjoy it though & recommend it to those who like heavy music, it’s right on the line between metal & rock. It has both types of songs & a healthy mix of the 2 in most songs. This single is a good example of what to expect from the album…
I like this current trend of female vocalists fronting heavier bands, I hope this continues.
I felt a little more patriotic this weekend as I listened to The Tragically Hip more. I only own 4 of their CDs. Their final concert will air on CBC on August 20th . For those who don’t know, the singer, Gord Downie, has terminal brain cancer. The Tragically Hip are Canada’s crown jewel. I’m not sure of their success outside of Canada? Most people in Canada will know their name if mentioned, few may not enjoy their music but will know the name! I’m a very casual fan, I like them but I don’t go bananas when I hear of a new album or tour. Like I said I only own 4 of their 20-30 albums on CD. It will be sad to see them pack it in knowing they wont be back. They are VERY representative of Canada, & what it means to be Canadian!
When they release a single from a new album, there’s a good chance it will at least reach the top 10 on the Canadian rock charts! The Tragically Hip are mostly my generations Canadian musical icons, there are others out there!
I got up today & really didn’t feel up to anything. I did get up around 7:00 am while Kim was rushing out the door for work. I didn’t feel like exercising I watched a little bit more of the Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers documentary on Netflix, that’s why I listened to their greatest hits album. Apparently producer, Jimmy Iovine (American Idol music producer), recorded with them on their first album “Damn the Torpedoes” was recorded at Sound City, the studio that Dave Grohl recently made a documentary about since that’s the same studio Nirvana recorded “Nevermind” in. This song was written by Dave Stewart of The Eurythmics for Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac & ended up on Tom Petty’s album.
I think that we’re always learning something. You have a computer on you somewhere (your phone) if you really want to, you can learn something “right now”.

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.
I didn’t read the entire article. I’d be disappointed if “Milkshakes” weren’t on the menu though.
Finally the artists speak out against www.youtube.com ! I knew this would come up sooner or later.
News like this is just terrible. Very similar to the Lamb of God documentary/situation in 2012.
