Today’s workout was brought to you by “Foo Fighters” the new, free EP “Saint Cecilia” & the album “Wasting Light”

So the parents read the warning, let kids put them in their hair, take no responsibility, then complain? I’m not a parent but if a parent has read the warning on the package, told the kid, how is that the companies fault? Kids are told not to put gum in their hair, no warning on a pack of gum, but they do it anyway, yet the parents don’t complain to any gum manufacturer?

Future genres of music gaining momentum. After reading that & hearing the examples, the future of music doesn’t look that good to me.

When I wrote lyrics, it took me a while. We would do the music first, expand on someone’s idea, I’d listen to it for a week or two. Then barf out some lyrics & a melody. After that I’d wait at least 2 weeks to figure out a proper title for one song. It was never a title first then lyrics. My brother would get frustrated with me at practice, “CHRIS, WHY IS IT TAKING SO LONG TO TITLE THIS SONG?!?!” I didn’t always want to go to the chorus to find what has been repeated multiple times in the song. Pretty much the same with this blog! I’ll write the day it is & figure out a title when I start writing the post. “….The only difference..” is now I don’t have that amount of time to write & title a blog.

Initially I thought I’d miss being in a band the most & I do miss it. However I really liked running a printing press, as it turns out, that’s what I miss the most. I could hold a piece of paper at the end of a day & say “Hey, I made this today!” I’ve always liked the idea of having a tangible product in my hand, even with music.

Digital music is great, I don’t know if that the money is going to the artist though that’s one strike against it. Maybe Apple or other streaming sites along with the labels are getting rich, but what are the musicians getting? Get rid of this streaming music crap & change iTunes so the musicians get a minimum of $6-$7 on an album sale. I blame the inventor of “Napster”.

He woke up one day & thought “Hey, music should be free!” I’m going to wake up one day & think “Hey, our groceries, power, gas, house, etc. should be free!”. Yeah, everyone should be able to hear music, more importantly everyone should have a home & food. Why aren’t necessities free?

Songs I like, “U2” They were my first favourite band. I still like them!
