I couldn’t care less about the Grammys this year.

So, can music heal? YES! Want proof? Check out this documentary.
Kim & I watched it at home Friday night! Kim brought 3 CDs for me while I was in a coma. 3 of my favourite albums. Foo Fighters “The Colour & The Shape”, 1 of the first 2 Big Wreck albums & a Matthew Good Band album, that had to be one of the reasons I’m here today.

That documentary is about people in nursing homes suffering from alzheimers or dementia. The music they’re given on an iPod, is music from their youth. It jogs their memory to a time they are not able to remember without the music! They put on headphones, start listening to a song, and you can see their demeanor change instantly. One man even sang & spoke after having his head down & mumbling for some time. It’s not the same music for everyone, music that each individual prefers, a different song for everyone. You won’t walk in there just blasting Slayer for everyone?! One man has kept his wife at home by having her listen to music. Then she starts playing the song on the kitchen table as though it’s a piano. Without the music, she’d have been in a nursing home for the past decade! Really cool documentary! It’s cool to see how music can have a certain effect on people!

Kim is ill today. I haven’t seen her this sick ever, & we started dating in April of 2002. I won’t be online much, if at all today!

Classic Rock’s tracks of the week

Another 10 years remembering Dimebag Darrell.

Green Day’s touring guitarist diagnosed with tonsil cancer
