When I was in elementary school, I think there was one announcement of a guy in a white van offering candy to kids? Long time ago, can’t really remember. In high school I don’t remember hearing any news. The Columbine shooting happened in April of 1999, just after I graduated in June of 1998. Now bomb threats, abductions, shootings, etc. Seems to be an everyday occurrence, why? Is more stuff happening or is the news just reporting more about the incidents’? Seems as though all I hear about on the news is a body found here, a shooting here killing & injuring multiple people, bomb threat here, etc. What happened? I could ride my bicycle to & from elementary school and not worry about these things happening. What’s changed? When did the world go crazy and start killing people because of a certain sexuality, religion, gender, race, etc.?

The year isn’t over yet but here’s NME’s Top 50 albums of 2014. Fall Out Boy’s new album will be released in January & Smashing Pumpkins will release an album December 9th, Lamb of God I haven’t heard much about? http://www.nme.com/photos/nme-s-top-50-albums-of-2014/364635#/photo/50

Calling this “Black Friday” could lead to someone calling it racist? Somebody is calling the Washington Redskins as having a racist name. Why now? Chicago Black Hawks, Cleveland Indians, Atlanta Braves, Ottawa Red Blacks, etc.! Why now all of a sudden? It was fine until this year. Other than Ottawa, these teams have had these names for decades, & now it’s offensive?!
I’ve never really been a fan of Courtney Love Cobain, because she was constantly bashing Dave Grohl publically until the Nirvana induction to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. This collaboration is pretty good though & she did something on the last “Fall Out Boy” album.
WARNING AT THE END, AFTER THE SONG!!!! http://classicrock.teamrock.com/news/2014-11-28/ginger-wildheart-courtney-love-honoured
How could you not like “Heart” covering “Led Zeppelin” Stairway To Heaven
So we get this from Scott Stapp, then the 2nd video?
His wife states reasons in divorce papers “crystal meth & other drugs & he’s had a suicide attempt” Paraphrasing Mark Tremonti (guitar for Alter Bridge, Creed & solo project) has tried to reach out to the Creed singer, with no response.

I expect today & tomorrow to be very slow music news days. Since today is American Thanksgiving day?
Soundgarden released a 3 CD album on Monday & as I listen to it more, the 2nd album of mostly cover songs I quite enjoy. I like to know who was inspired to make music by a previous musician?
Tremonti, Muse, Stone Sour, Halestorm & Tool all but confirmed to be in the studio with a 2015 release & possibly Lamb of God & Queens of the Stone Age (who stated they would be in the studio this fall much earlier this year). Gene Simmons says “Rock is dead” though……….& he knows everything about everything. He can be a decent person but on the reality show that’s not how he was port raid to the public! If there’s money in some opportunity he’s in!
If all of these albums are released next year, it will be a great year for me! I’m still listening to Queens of the Stone Age’s 2013 album (…Like Clockwork) as well as Foo Fighters “Sonic Highways” , Ed Sheeran, Linkin Park, Big Wreck, Trivium, etc. Whatever I can cram in, in 24 hours!
There are still 3 albums to come out this year that I’m waiting to hear. Can’t remember 1 of them at the moment. The Smashing Pumpkins on December 9th & Fall Out Boy set for preorder on December 15th I don’t plan on preordering these 2 albums, I want to make sure I like 80% of each album. I really don’t buy a song here & there, I prefer to have the entire album.
Does anyone other than me miss holding a CD in their hand? CDs take up physical space, that I don’t have. So digital music is fine, even better in my case living in a condo. I still buy the odd one though. Blu-rays & DVDs I still purchase since we don’t have the highest internet speed. We’ve bought some movies from iTunes yet they freeze up? It takes 3 hours to watch a 2 hour movie on iTunes, bought or rented?
Heart playing “Stairway to Heaven” at Led Zeppelin’s Hall of Fame induction, and then they were sued for this song?
A typical Canadian tour I can’t go to! I’d have to fly or spend a minimum of 2 days in a vehicle to see this. http://inflames.com/tour/
Why is this still a topic of interest? People need to get over the FREE album U2 released! http://www.nme.com/news/u2/81379 Would it be better if they just kept making albums that sound like “The Joshua Tree” & sent it out for free? You can’t please everyone all of the time.

Pearl Jam’s “Ten” on Masterpiece Reviews by the Rock It Out Blog on Tuesday. I love this album!
Why don’t I have a cell phone or mobile device at all?!
Why Foo Fighters ticket experiment didn’t work. I’m 7.5 hours away from the venue. If I wasn’t in a wheelchair, I wouldn’t get a decent ticket, if any ticket at all. Wheelchair seating at any concert I’ve been to since my cancer in 2008 have never sold out, thankfully. I mostly agree with this article as much as I hate technology, I’d rather be assured the same chance of getting a ticket as everyone else. I wouldn’t wait outside the box office for 2 days, I’d stay at home & have someone with a proper speaking voice order my ticket…….over the phone, not texting, emailing, tweeting, using facebook or emailing, but actually talking to someone, your cell phone has the ability to be used as a PHONE! Shocking, I know! Then I’d rest easy knowing I have that ticket already. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/mark-carpowich/foo-fighters-ticket-exper_b_6217552.html
I pre-ordered the latest Soundgarden album and was slightly disappointed with it. That being said I haven’t sat down & had a decent listen to it. When I did listen to it, it was more of a type of background music (which I don’t really like doing to music). If I’m on a long vehicle trip, that’s when I pay REALLY good attention to what I’m listening to, since I don’t drive https://itunes.apple.com/ca/album/echo-miles-scattered-tracks/id930978221
Here’s the article posted by BDCwire.com about “Why I can’t stand Dave Grohl”. Not everyone will have the same music?! This really bothered the younger Foo Fighters fans. I think Foo Fighter fans should be thanking the author for the publicity! http://www.bdcwire.com/the-pretender-why-i-cant-stand-dave-grohl/
They’re playing 2 Canadian dates in August 2015. Edmonton & Calgary. Both are in Alberta! If I lived any further East, I would seriously consider not going. The audience will comprise of Alberta, B.C., Saskatchewan and MAYBE Manitoba fans. I’d be surprised if anybody from Ontario, Quebec, Labrador, the Maritimes or the Territories would even consider attending? Really 2 dates in Canada, the largest country on the map (not residency)! I expected a better Canadian tour, yet it’s worse! If I lived in any eastern province I wouldn’t go to this show. Why are live concerts not free? They aren’t going to play every single song from every single album like on iTunes, CDs or whatever you’re using for free music! I guess I’m stupid because I want to pay/own my music. ITunes is very convenient, but the pricing is TOO CHEAP! Yes, you heard me right, free music is terrible and I hope every free downloading & streaming site get’s shut down & iTunes adjust the price on what the musician wants for their music under $20.00! I’m all for trading, lending & copying music. It was legal with cassettes & CDs, so I assume there’s no law about that type of thing being illegal? Yes, I’ll beat this subject until there is a change!

Rock It Out Blog news from Monday. For the topic of the discussion, award shows seem quite irrelevant to me. I’m not about to rush out & buy an album because it won best whatever on an awards show? Music is very subjective, not everyone is going to like the same music. Sure I watch award shows, doesn’t mean I take them seriously! They’re a talent contest for what’s popular at the moment.
Even shows like American Idol, The Voice, The X Factor, The Sing-Off & America’s Got Talent, & Dancing with the Stars, etc. Are just talent contests, judged by whoever needs the money.

System of a Down announce dates in Europe for 2015. That’s great, I think the fans would all like a new album? Last album, the double album, was released in 2005. Who do they think they are, Tool? http://www.nme.com/news/system-of-a-down/81317
“The 17 times Dave Grohl has been totally right about everything” the free music thing, I totally disagree. If you’re rich & able to maintain your lifestyle sure give away your music. If not Take it off whatever streaming site, torrent site, or iTunes? CD prices, there’s not much you can do about those, & don’t expect your favourite band to play every song on every album at a concert unless they only have one album out. A tour is just as much an advertisement for the album as are singles and videos. http://www.buzzfeed.com/perpetua/best-dave-grohl-quotes-ever

Pearl Jam’s album “Vitalogy” was released 20 years ago today! My favourite lyric is “…as he opens the door, she rolls over, pretends to sleep as he looks her over…” Dark lyrics from a dark song.

Tom Delong of “Blink 182” does not like the idea of streaming music for free. I like the odd Blink 182 song but if I were to purchase any or get it for free, there’d be no way for me to support them. I don’t believe they come to Canada often anymore. I’m not about to get in a vehicle for 13 hours to see a band that I’m not a die hard fan of? http://www.nme.com/news/blink-182/81277?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=blink182
Somebody on a Foo Fighters fan page just asked if anybody has heard of Alter Bridge? 10 years, 4 studio albums & a 10 year anniversary box set, and nobody has heard of them?
The singer, Myles Kennedy, sings with Slash. But a TON of people have no clue who they are?
WARNING NUDITY!!!!
This is the first album involving Slash I bought & enjoy.
Tracking for the new Finger Eleven is done! It had better not sound like the 4th album? The fifth was a step up for me but not a big step.
46 years ago today The Beatles released The White album! I remember going to an Our Lady Peace concert on tour for their 2nd album and I believe they covered this song? I think I went with 2 friends, Timothy Wong & Jonny Amore?
