Why were the stabbings in Calgary on the national news and not the Regina stabbings? Because Calgary had 5 deaths and we only had 4 deaths? I don’t get that? Are we a footnote in Canada? Sure Regina’s much smaller, but Regina is the capital of Saskatchewan. I guess the media doesn’t see Regina’s victims as important?
No, just because Big Wreck and Foo Fighters are my favourite bands doesn’t mean I like every song on every album! The 2nd Big Wreck album, “The Pleasure and The Greed” was pretty hit and miss for me. Until it hits the 7th song on the album…
Even on the “Albatross” album there’s one song I could do without….
Foo Fighters are the same for me. I can go all of the way through the first 3 albums and jump passed one song, that they’ve always had in the set list…
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4eNBM17tkjI FYI-The lady that flips Dave Grohl off is his mother! He had to teach her how to do that!
The 4th album, “One by One”, was good up to and including the fourth song “Times Like These”. On the 5th/double album “In your Honor”, released a decade since the first release, wasn’t so good for me. The acoustic album is more to my liking than the rock album. The 6th album, “Echoes,, Silence, Patience and Grace” for me had 5 out of 13 songs that I like. The last release was 8/10 for me. “Miss the Misery” and “Matter of Time” Could have been replaced with better songs.
The good songs for me are the last track on every album except “Home” on the 6th studio album.
I’ll give you the last track on 6/7 studio releases, in order of release!

The 6th album, there were a handful of songs I wanted to learn, but they became too difficult to play and sing at the same time. All of the songs above were very easy to play and sing.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PkcfQtibmU This was released at the right moment for me. 2011 when I was learning to “Walk” and talk in my Rehabilitation program!
Believe it or not I prefer most of the B-Sides on their singles, which I have about 30 of on CD. Mostly from the first 3 or 4 albums. Thanks Rob Wirtz! He would find old singles for me at pawn stores in Alberta and mail them or bring them home if he was on a work term, some of them I found here at the HMV in the Cornwall Center downtown.
Apparently the new “Foo Fighters” album is half way done!!!!
http://consequenceofsound.net/2014/04/foo-fighters-new-album-is-almost-halfway-done/ Hopefully this comes out this year, along with Big Wreck and In Flames which are both guaranteed to be released this year. June 10th in Canada and July 15th for the USA for Big Wreck! Other bands I don’t really know?
A TON of people call Dave Grohl their “God like musical saviour”, so I have 2. Dave Grohl, Ian Thornley of Big Wreck. I also had a list of singers I’ve always enjoyed. Dave Grohl, Ian Thornley, Bono, Brian Byrne of I Mother Earth, Danny Greaves of The Watchmen, Myles Kennedy of Alter Bridge, Josh Homme of Q.O.T.S.A., Thom York of Radiohead, David Bowie, Freddie Mercury, Paul McCartney, Chris Cornell of Soundgarden, Ben Harper, Jack Johnson, Maynard of TOOL, Shaun Verreault of Wide Mouth Mason, Micheal Jackson, Dave Matthews, Chris Martin of Coldplay, Bruno Mars, Billy Joel, Elton John, Trevor Hurst of Econoline Crush and many more. As Dave Grohl says “Music is a big (f-bomb) deal”!
“Don’t try to please everyone, it CAN’T happen”
