I only have the first album by them, why?  It’s the one where Dave Grohl was on a radio show in the UK, they played this song for a break in the middle of the interview I was listening to the interview online.  I was instantly blown away as was Mr. Grohl.  I pictured them as young adults dressed in buisness suits, man was I off! Unitards or not, I like this album, not every song of course, those are rare unless it’s an Alter Bridge album!

I know my brother hates it, I would play the riff at band rehearsal and he would yell into my ear or microphone “Chris, NO! SHUT UP!”  The more we talk about music the more I discover how different our tastes are.  Maybe it’s because I rarely go to The Exchange other than to see his band “Room 333”, “Into Eternity” or “Itchy Stitches” it’s almost a guarantee that whoever is opening or preforming with any of those groups, I’ll hear stuff I don’t really care for, usually the other bands are just way to heavy for me.

I don’t want to be screamed and yelled at all night!  Too much, I’m not “Metal, metal, metal” all of the time!  I can’t listen to one style of music all of the time.  I need a break once in  a while.  That’s why I have Elton John, Billy Joel, Paul McCartney, Wings, The Beatles, The Watchmen, Ken Tizzard, Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, Matt Mays, Tom Petty, etc. on my iPod.  Kim’s not a fan of metal at all.  If Mitch and I want to go to the same show on a weekend, then Kim stay’s home and yes, I’m seriously thinking of pre ordering “Chromeo’s” next album “White Women” They’ve released 4 songs off of the upcoming 10 song album.  I might wait to hear the entire album first?

Being a new musician is terrible at the moment.  If you’re a group that is signed to a label, you make $0.00- $0.05 from a sale on iTunes, where almost everyone goes for music now.  That’s why, if I like a smaller, lesser known band, I’ll go to the show if it’s a weekend, buy their CD and a T-Shirt or some type of merchandise, even Big Wreck, I assume they are only a house hold name in Canada!  As for popular bands who have made their millions of dollars, I like going to live concerts.  Their music I’ll purchase from iTunes, unless there’s a bonus something, DVD, Sticker or Stick on tattoo

Even “Lamb of God” isn’t doing well financially and they released their 7th studio album a 3 disc anthology, a live album, 2 DVDs and they travel everywhere, Asia, Europe, North America, South America, etc.  EVERYWHERE! They don’t expect to be rolling in money anytime soon.  We had tickets to see them in Saskatoon a while ago, but the weather was terrible.  Their last album was far better for me than the previous one, but nothing like their 4th and 5th album.  7 albums and still no one’s heard of them other than metal fans.  They had to change their name after the first self titled album “Burn the Priest”  They had been booked to preform in a Church and weren’t allowed in.  They still shouldn’t preform in a Church, despite the name change.

Yesterday I slept in and if I sleep past 9am that’s a waste of a day for me!  I got up shortly before 7am today.  Yesterday I did my exercise, had breakfast and held down the couch watching a spring training game from Wednesday and The Tonight Show w/ Jimmy Fallon.  I watch Ellen, Jimmy Fallon and Conan.  Seth Myers seems a little overwhelmed on his show?  I’ll give him a few months before I watch him again.

“Don’t try to please everyone, it CAN’T happen”

“Learn something from your mistakes and don’t do them again”

“I feel good about the good things and bad about the bad things”-David Eric Grohl
