DARIUS RUCKER

Yeah the singer from “Hootie and the Blowfish”.  No, Hootie, is not him.  It’s part of the group’s name. They went to school with 2 guys called Hootie, and Blowfish as nicknames.  Like Alice Cooper was meant to be the name of the group, and quickly became the name of the lead singer.  Also like “Have a Cigar” by Pink Floyd.  The lyric “…by the way which one is pink…”

Foo Fighters cover, Dave Grohl and drummer Taylor Hawkins switch when played live.  Taylor sings this song recorded or live  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5lD9r7T2VrM

Primus cover http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HqwvNmG651Q Corey loves Primus.  I can’t get into them?  Les Claypool could give Geddy Lee of Rush a run for his money though.  Les is the bass player and singer for Primus.  Very talented, just not for me.

Back on topic Darius Rucker went on to do what seems like the in thing to do for musicians right now, he is a Country Music artist now!  He still sounds like he did in his former band that I was really into at the time.  I checked on iTunes just now there’s 7 albums including a Greatest Hits album!  I only owned the 1st two CDs by Hootie and the Blowfish. “Cracked Rear View” and “Fair Weather Johnson”.

Now as a country artist Darius has 2 albums out and yes, both are on my iPod!  “True Believers” (Deluxe Edition) and “Charleston, SC 1966” (Deluxe Edition). Kim, Sherry and maybe a few others saw him opening for “Lady Antebellum” a few years ago.  Country music isn’t really my thing, but Kim loves it!  We don’t need to get a ticket for me, usually to expensive for us to both go.  I’ve seen Paul Brant twice with Kim and I’m good, I don’t need to attend another show and spend $50 to see him again, unless Kim has no one to go with.  Here’s a few songs from his 2 recent country albums I have.

What did I do yesterday?  Mom took Brewster and I out for a drive to our cabin.  We left my wheelchair here.  I don’t want my mother to try and lift it on her own, she has a bad back, she even had back surgery when I was in or had just finished high school.  Right now there’s no hope of getting a vehicle up the hill to the cabin, around 3 feet of snow at the gate.

Mom and I stopped at Tim Horton’s on the way out for coffee and DQ for lunch in Moose Jaw on the way back. Brewster had some cheese and a car ride, he was very happy!  He was most likely thinking “We’re here!  Why aren’t we getting out of the car?”.  He did get to stick his head out of the window though!
