A soundtrack from a movie from ’91.  A movie about a band called “The Commitments”, the name of the group, I think?  I have that on my iPod, the soundtrack that is!  Of course it’s all cover songs or they were a fantastic band that a TON of good songs, no it’s cover songs….

What’s going on with all of these hippity dippity bands on the music scene?  Another reason I hardly ever listen to the radio.  I don’t listen to much popular music anyways.  Why is a band like Big Wreck not HUGE outside of Canada?  I Mother Earth isn’t either, could it be because I Mother Earth skip’s over 2 or 3 prairie provinces?  I don’t think so.  Big Wreck was 3 Americans and 1 Canadian, Ian Thornley.  Now it’s 4 Canadians and 1 American, original member Brian Dougherty on rhythm guitar.  They’ve played a few shows in the USA, but not many.  I’m pretty sure I Mother Earth hasn’t though?

I subscribe to the Rock it Out Blog on facebook.  You can subscribe to it through email as well on that’s where I find out about new bands or bands I’ve never heard of before.  They don’t just cover rock and metal music, they cover EVERY type of music, 4 posts a day with the 4th one being a video blog usually.

Kim’s home sick today.  Apparently she was up all night throwing up.  I didn’t hear her since I had my ear buds in.  I fall asleep listening to metal music or rock music.  If I wasn’t listening to music, there’s a good chance I wouldn’t wake up. Kim hated my alarm clock when I was working a day shift, it was super loud, since you pretty much had to have a train come through the bedroom to wake me up!  I sleep like the dead again, without sleeping pills.

We went out to Tony Romas for wings and beer with Elka on Saturday evening.  Sunday evening Mitch & Rachel came by.  They brought their fast food and Kim made supper. Other than that, we had a very lazy weekend.  Mitch says at 35, just give up on life, at least that’s what he’ll do.  Drink constantly and try to focus more on his job, REALLY?  I’ll be 35 next year, I guess I’ll drink heavily with him and wear nothing but a robe/house coat?
