Yeah he’s old, that doesn’t mean he’s bad though. I just have a double album of his greatest hits, and a few other songs. If you don’t like him that’s fine, I get it. He’s somewhat influential though. He did have some big hits though…
I’m pretty sure I played this song when I filled in for Tyler Wanner with Chris Messer in Minton (small town close to the USA border). On a flat bed truck for a street party. Good times, other than it being so far away and the McDonalds drive though at 3am took us 45minutes to go through despite being the only customers there.
How did he make these songs without pro tools? Oh, he learned his craft, piano and voice. As far as I know I missed one vocal note on the “Chemical Horizon” CD. We recorded it in my parents basement in a month I think? Some of my vocals were done in our shower, no, no water being used, that was our recording booth for a few songs. Some blankets to stop the echo and that was all we needed to do! We weren’t a group that would drink all night when we played, it was impossible for me to sing and play guitar after one drink. I would hoover water on stage or chew gum when my mouth was dry!
“Don’t judge anyone until you’ve been in their shoes”
“Just because today is a terrible day doesn’t mean tomorrow won’t be the best day of your life. You’ve just got to get there”
“Don’t try to please everyone, it CAN’T happen”
“Apologize for your mistakes and learn something from them”
