Why are there record stores closing everywhere? Lot’s of people own record players still and will buy LPs. Artists still release LPs so why not keep them available? Cassettes too! Sure they’re more difficult to put on iTunes so you can carry a billion songs with you, but if people want to pay for a vinyl print of whatever album, let them. I own a record player and we have quite a few albums on vinyl, I didn’t purchase any of them. Grandpa Fraser got them at a few garage sales, he asked Kim and I to go through them and take whatever we wanted, a long time ago. I can’t remember who, but a friend of my parents had a large collection that were warped from water damage, and we got to chose what we wanted as well. Kim tells me they’re in good shape now. So we have the vinyl of some big name albums “Hysteria” by Def Leperd, “The Joshua Tree” by U2, “Licensed to Ill” by the Beastie Boys, “Led Zeppelin II”, and a few others.
The Matthew Good Band! Not just Matthew Good as a solo artist. I’m not a fan of his solo stuff. The band has 4 albums out and an EP. No one really knows about the EP “Raygun” or the album “Last of the Ghetto Astronauts”, but of course I have both on CD! He had a copy of “Lo-Fi B-Sides” , I’ve never heard it and his copy of it was stolen! If you can dig it up, it would be a collector’s item. The Band blew up on their second full length release “Underdogs” with this single 90s Canadian rock, there’s the rock songs and the slower softer songs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7xwxWftzMc (F-BOMB) NOT FOR KIDS! At the end of the song. This song was very popular in Canada. My first band in 2000 played this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wnQ-Ixnqpe8 Safe for all ages! The bands last release was good as well, “The Audio of Being” with this song as the first single.
